Furniture By Sam Parkin
About
01 about
Last Leaf create heirloom hardwood furniture from a purpose built workshop, just outside the city of York. All elements of the work are undertaken by Sam, from the design and timber selection to hand crafting each individual piece.
Sam originally studied luthierie at the London Metropolitan University (previously the London College of Furniture) and went on to work on large furniture projects such as Ripon Cathedral, Christchurch College Oxford and St Martin in the Fields on Trafalgar Sq.

Sam creates elegantly designed individual pieces of handcrafted furniture, where the natural characteristics of the timber are always at the forefront of any piece. Often using highly figured timbers combined with hand cut decorative inlay work, wood carving and most importantly, designs that compliment the timbers natural grain patterns and flow. It's this relationship between the craft and the material that is key to the style of Sams work.
Every piece that leaves the workshop is truly one of a kind, with a natural character of its own, tailored specifically for the client and the space in which it is made to inhabit.
